This Friday we welcome Kieran Metcalfe BPE1* https://kieranmetcalfephotography.co.uk for his online talk “Chasing The Light” starting at 7.30pm. Kieran says, "I discuss the conditions I actively seek, the joys and pitfalls they bring and how sometimes, my favourite images are ones taken in less than ideal or unexpected situations.”
Visitors are welcome to join the talk through https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/chasing-the-light-and-online-talk-with-kieran-metcalfe-bpe1-tickets-326339930517 for £3.50
There won’t be a meeting on 13 or 20 May and the next meeting will be the judging of the Natural History PDI by Duncan Armour DPAGB on 27 May. Hand in date for this competition is Friday 20 May and you can enter up to 4 images which must be new, not having been entered in any previous club competition. Full rules and a link to the online entry system can be found at https://wrekinartspc.com/competition-links-organisations-and-club-guides
The club will be closed again on 3 June which is the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend. Talking of cancellations, there won’t be a Landscape competition this year.
Tony is looking for work to be displayed at two events in Wellington. As part of Wellington Festival 2022 https://www.wellington-shropshire.gov.uk/events/category/festival/page/2/ there will be an open afternoon at The Belfrey on Sunday 8 May between 12 noon and 4pm where, amongst other things, the club will host a Photographic Exhibition. Then on 4 June the club goes to Wellington Midsummer Fayre and Queen’s Jubilee Celebration https://www.wellington-shropshire.gov.uk/event/wellington-midsummer-fair-queens-jubilee-celebration/ in Wellington Parish Church Grounds between 10am and 4pm.
Both events will help to raise the club profile so if you can help to erect the marquee at the second event or provide help during the day at either event please contact Tony.
Finally, the club will continue to meet on Zoom for the remainder of this season and hopefully, we can start the new season in September at the club room.
