On the positive side, the club’s 2020/21 season restarts this Friday with a slideshow presentation on Zoom from Les Loosemore ARPS, DPAGB, AWPF. Les comes from South Wales and is sponsored by Fotospeed. https://www.fotospeed.com/gallery.asp?person=1719

Les will show us a selection of AV’s including The Lake District in Winter; Cobwebs; Dewdrops and Leaves; Winter Leaves and Flowers; Storm Brian and Autumnal Scotland. Calvin sent out the invitation to join this meeting on 3 January. On 15 January, Sally Sallett ARPS, AFIAP, CPAGB, BPE3* from Wakefield Camera Club https://wakefieldcameraclub.org.uk/photo-gallery-page/sally-sallett/ will present “Never underestimate an old woman with a camera” Sally will tell the story of her 10 years in club photography supported by her eclectic mix of images. Looking a little further ahead, the hand in deadline for the 2nd Merit PDI competition is Friday 22 January. It will be judged online by Kylie Martin EFIAP, BPE2*, LDPS on 5 February http://kylie-annmartinphotography.weebly.com For this competition you will be able to enter up to 3 images. The committee has agreed that any image submitted for the 2019/20 season can be reused this season irrespective of any awards given. There will be a further 2 Merit PDI competitions during the year plus those for Landscape and Natural History.

Finally I’m sorry to report the death of Clive Priest, one of the founder members of Wrekin Arts Photographic Club, who died at the end of last year. Clive was also a trustee of Belfrey Arts Trust for a number of years.
