Wrekin Arts Photographic Club Newsletter 6 2020/21 8 December 2020

This Friday we have our first online PDI Competition judged by Steven Galvin LRPS. All club members will have received an invitation from Calvin to join the Zoom meeting from 7.45pm. Judging starts at 8pm.

The next PDI competition is on 5 February 2021 and the committee has agreed that all entries made for the 2019/20 season can be reused this season irrespective of any awards given.

Friday 18 December sees the club Christmas Party move online. Don’t forget to dress up for the occasion! Food and Drink are not obligatory but, as no driving is involved, you can indulge without fear of the breathalyser!!

The Photo Space Ludlow has 4 interesting online exhibitions available at https://tpsc.online “Times Like These 2020” by Carol Langford; "25 Years as a Press Photographer” by Andy Compton; "Better in Black and White” by Harry Fearn and "Ludlow Seven 2020” - 7 Photographers, 7 Walls. There’s a tutorial on operating the exhibitions - see i in the top left hand corner. The full screen button is immediately underneath.

Finally, Roger has sent me information about a programme on Sky Arts featuring photographers in the music industry called “Icon: Music Through the Lens”. Sky Arts was originally a subscription programme but it's now available free to air. The next live episode is on Friday 11 December but you can watch it online at https://www.sky.com/watch/title/series/21b342e0-211d-4e2b-ba59-9a6c551a74ff/icon-music-through-the-lens/episodes/season-1/episode-1 by clicking on the “Episodes” tab. Roger says that he’s finding the programme interesting - “There are some great images of all the great and the good of the music industry and some of their famous album covers.”
