This Friday we will have a showing of digital images from the 2018 London Salon of Photography http://www.londonsalon.org The Salon Membership is restricted to just 50 members who join by invitation only. The exhibition is open to any photographer. Irene is one of the members of the Salon and had 2 images accepted whilst Roger had 1 acceptance. There’s usually a good discussion about the images so it’s well worth attending on Friday.

On Friday 17 May, Peter Cheetham Hon PAGB judges the 4th Merit PDI competition.

Telford Balloon Fiesta http://www.discovertelford.co.uk/Discover/Event/telford-balloon-fiesta-including-wales-s-strongest-man-england-s-strong-man-finals-2019 takes place in Telford Town Park this weekend 11 and 12 May. Besides the Balloons there will be the finals of the Wales Strongest Man Competition on Saturday afternoon and the England finals on Sunday afternoon. Balloon inflation starts about 6am each day and entry to all events is free. A great chance to get images for club competitions.

This weekend also see the opening of the British Wildlife Photography Awards Exhibition at Jackfield Tile Museum https://www.ironbridge.org.uk/events/family-events/british-wildlife-photography-awards-exhibition/ The exhibition is open from 10am to 4pm daily and runs until 10 September.

Finally, The Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers run a series of monthly competitions http://www.swpp.co.uk/comps.htm that are free to enter. Full details are available on the site.
