This Friday, Peter Cheetham will judge the first merit PDI competition. Friday 11 October is also the hand in night for the mobile PDI and colour blue theme competitions. Please make your entries online http://wrekinartspc.com/competition-links-organisations-and-club-guides

There’s a change to the advertised printed programme next week on Friday 18 October. Instead of the mobile phone and colour blue theme competitions, Andy Polakowski DPAGB, EFIAP/s, BPE5*, AWPF will present his talk “50 New (Bronze) Images.” Andy is from Mold and is making a return visit with some interesting pictures.

The mobile pdi and colour blue theme competitions will be judged by members on Friday 25 October.

Ed Philllips’ first solo exhibition “Brought to Mind” http://www.thephotospace.co.uk/en/page_20448.html will open at The Photo Space Gallery, Ludlow http://www.thephotospace.co.uk/en/page_16656.html on Saturday 19 October at Midday and runs until Saturday 23 November. Gallery opening times Wednesday to Saturday 1030 to 1630. Now’s your opportunity to support Ed in his first exhibition and see a lot of his new work.

Andy Udall won a prize in the Campaign to Protect Rural England Shropshire Photo Competition 2019. Winning entries will be displayed at Attingham Park, SY4 4TP https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/attingham-park from Saturday 26 October until Sunday 10 November. Entry to the exhibition is free but normal admission charges apply for the venue. The exhibition is due to go to Telford Town Centre later in the year and I’ll give you dates as soon as they become available.

You will recall that the Mayor of Wellington, Cllr. Anthony Lowe, opened this year’s season at the member’s exhibition. The Town Council is running a Festival http://www.wellington-shropshire.gov.uk/festival-programme-now-available-to-view/ from Saturday 12 to Saturday 26 October. All events are free - just turn up at the event about 30 minutes before the advertised start time. It would be nice if club members could support some of the events.

Finally, there will a fireworks display at Blist’s Hill Museum https://www.ironbridge.org.uk/events/family-events/fireworks-night/ from 6pm on Saturday 2 November.
