Wrekin Arts Photographic Club Newsletter 2 2018/19

Following last weeks’ successful opening of the 2018/19 season the programme starts with the Doug Lewis Memorial Lecture this Friday, 14 September when our own Norman O’Neill EFIAP, DPAGB, BPE4*  talks about “My Road to Distinctions.” It will be in 2 parts. The first part will be about distinctions and which organisation runs them and this will be followed by a selection of images that Norman has used in gaining his distinctions.

The Learner Hour Programme also starts on Friday 14 September when Calvin will lead the group with Photoshop hints and tips. This is an interactive session and if you have ideas for future meetings please come along and share your thoughts with other members.

On 21 September, Irene will lead a critique evening when you can get help on improving your images whether for internal club competitions or if you are seeking distinctions from such bodies as British Photographic Exhibitions (BPE) http://www.britishphotographicexhibitions.org.uk Royal Photographic Society (RPS) http://www.rps.org/distinctions Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) http://www.thepagb.org.uk/awards/apm-awards/ or The International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) https://www.fiap.net/en Please bring your printed images or digital images on a memory stick. The hand in night for the first competition of the year is Friday 5 October so this is a good opportunity to have your images assessed before the judge sees them.

The club is representing the MCPF https://www.mcpf.co.uk/print-and-pdi-championships/ in the PAGB Print Championships at Blackburn on Sunday 28 October. If you would like to support your club at this event then see Tony on Friday to order a ticket. Price per ticket is £10 (non-refundable).

Finally Kate Maxwell is showing at the Photo Space Gallery in Ludlow http://www.thephotospace.co.uk/en/page_18772.html until 29 September.
