Wrekin Arts Photographic Club Newsletter 20 2016/17 31 May 2017

This Friday, Ralph Duckett, MPAGB, APAGB, EFIAP from Burton upon Trent Photographic Society http://www.burtonps.co.uk/index.html will judge the 4th Merit Print Competition. The Merit competitions are almost over for this season and the current league standings can be found at http://wrekinartspc.com/2016-17-league-standings/ 

Calvin will lead the Learners Hour at 6.45pm

Next Friday, 9 June, there will be a showing of the Bebington Salon of Photography 2017 presented by Bob Dennis CPAGB, APAGB, AFIAP, BPE4* from Bebington Photographic Society http://www.bebingtonps.org.uk 

Friday 9 June is also the hand in night for the Finals Night PDI competition. You can only enter this competition if you’ve participated in at least 2 of the Merit PDI competitions during the year. On Saturday t0 June the club will have stall at the annual Wellington Midsummer Fayre https://wellingtonsoup.org/events/wellington-midsummer-fayre/ Tony is looking for help to erect the gazebo and for member’s prints to set up an exhibition at the event. You can sell any of your own prints there and the club will take 15% of the selling price as commission.

Looking a little further ahead. On 16 June Dave Lowe ARPS, DPAGB will judge the Finals PDI competition. This night is also the closing date for the Finals Night Colour and Mono Print competition. You can enter up to 3 prints in each section, and again, entry is only open to those members that have entered at least 2 of the relevant Merit Print competitions during the year.

The club AGM will be on Friday 30 June.

Church Stretton Arts Festival 2017 is now open for entries http://www.strettonfestival.org.uk/2017-information-for-artists-designer-craftsmen-and-photographers/ with a closing date of 30 June. Entry is £1 per item and you can sell any print with 17.5% of the price going to the Society as commission.
