There’s still time to see the final 2 viewings of the Wrekin Salon. Tonight (Tuesday) at 8pm, you can see the Nature and Photo Travel Sections and at the same time tomorrow there is a repeat of the Open Colour and Mono sections. It’s not often you get the chance to see some of the best images in world photography professionally edited and set to music by our own Jon Baker. Entrance is free to club members and £2 for members of the public. Come along and see it on both nights, you won’t be disappointed!
On Friday 22 January we have a return visit from Valentina Kulagina ARPS, DPAGB, BPE3*, AFIAP when she will talk about the techniques she uses to produce her images. Last year we had a very informative and entertaining evening. I’m sure that this evening will be equally instructive.
At 6.45pm, Calvin will lead the learner’s hour talking about the choice and use of filters. Don’t forget to bring your camera.
On Friday 29 January, Dave Bowen MPAGB, EFIAP, ABPE (supported by Pinnacle) visits us with his lecture “In Pursuit” where we will have a chance to see a selection of Dave’s great images. This Friday is also the hand in night for the 2nd Merit Print Competition when members can enter up to 3 prints in each of the colour and mono sections of their particular grouping. Rules can be found on the “Links and Guides” section of the website http://wrekinartspc.com/competition-links-organisations-and-club-guides/ together with the link for submitting a digital image of the print entry.
Before the main meeting, Tony will lead the learner’s hour with tips on the composition of images.

And finally, I reported the sad news that our dear friend Roger Hague, DAPGB passed away on Christmas Day 2015. His funeral will be held at Claverley Church (Sat Nav WV5 7DS) at 1130 on Thursday 4 February and afterwards at Claverley Village Hall. There is a large car park at the church so please make every effort to attend. This will be a celebration of Roger’s life and Helena has asked people not to wear black. Please let Tony know if you’re coming to help with numbers for catering. There will be retiring collection for the Asbestos Support Group.
