Wrekin Arts Photographic Club Newsletter 19/2014-15 19 May 2015

This Friday, local award winning Wildlife Photographer, Mark Sisson http://www.marksissonphoto.co.uk/ visits us to show his latest images. This has been a very popular evening in the past so arrive early if you want to get the best seat!

Friday is also the hand in night for the fourth and final merit print competition. We are trialling a new process for print competitions starting with this one. The purpose is to hold digital images of the prints so that award winning images can be loaded onto the Club Website for viewing and are available for the Club to see when selecting for National Club competitions. The process is exactly the same as for PDI entries. You login to the online entry system (click here) and select the relevant competition (in this case 4th Merit Print competition) and follow the process to upload your digital images. Remember for Prints there are two sections - Mono and Colour (of course you don't have to enter both). This is not a registration system for prints so please bring up to 3 for each section this Friday night. Full details of the trial can be seen here http://wrekinartspc.com/specific-news-items/2015/5/2/trial-for-club-print-competitions

On Friday 29 May Chris Palmer FRPS, EFIAP, DPAGB, APAGB  http://www.chrispalmerphotographer.co.uk/page5.htm from Amersham Photographic Society http://www.amershamphotosoc.com/  will judge the fourth merit print competition.

Looking a little further ahead, the club will have a stall at Wellington Midsummer Fayre http://wellingtonsoup.org/2015/04/28/coming-soon-wellington-midsummer-fayre-2015/ on Saturday 13 June. The main purpose of the club attending is to attract new members but existing members will be able to display and sell their images. The club will charge a commission on each image sold. More details later.

Then on Friday 19 June we will have our AGM. It’s your chance to have your say about how the club is run! New committee members are always welcome – you will be able to put your name forward as a candidate for the committee.
