This Friday, Terry Donnelly FRPS,MPAGB, FBPE, ASWPP, EFIAP http://www.terrydonnelly.co.uk/ (supported by Permajet) from Liverpool visits us for the first time. Terry is a very creative and imaginative photographer and is an invited Getty Images contributor. He is also a commercial photographer specialising in a number of genres including architecture, sports and people. Terry won the FIAP Blue Badge for the most successful entrant at last year’s Wrekin Salon. I’m sure that we will be treated to some very exciting images. Don’t miss it!
Earlier in the evening Alan will talk about his images in the Learners hour starting at 6.45pm. This will be the last leaner’s hour session for 2015.
Friday 18 December is the date for the club’s annual Christmas Party when spouses and partners will be most welcome to join us. Please let Sheila know on Friday the numbers attending so that she can order the correct amount of food and wine!
The next 2 club nights fall on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day respectively so there won’t be meetings on these dates. However 1 January is the last day for entering the second merit pdi competition. As ever, entries must be made on line. The 5th Wrekin Salon Exhibition, presentation of awards and AV of all the accepted images will be at The Belfrey Theatre in Wellington (next to our club room) on Saturday 16 January 2016. Doors are open at 1.30pm and the Salon will be officially opened by Cllr. Leon Murray , Mayor of Telford and Wrekin at 2pm. Entry fee is £2. The Salon committee hope that all club members will attend and see some of the very best of World Photography.
There will be further showings of the Salon at our club room on Monday 18 January at 8pm with Open Colour and Monochrome sections; Tuesday 19 January at 8pm with Nature and Photo Travel then on Wednesday 20 January at 8pm there will be a repeat of Monday’s session.
