Wrekin Arts Photographic Club Newsletter 4 2023/24 25 September 2023

This Friday, 29 September there will be an addition to the programme. Please bring your images from last week so they can be reviewed by club members but also bring along your camera for a studio evening. There will still be an opportunity to “Get to Know your Camera” if there wasn’t sufficient time last week.

Friday is also the hand in night for the 1st Merit PDI Competition. You can enter up to 3 images in your class. Just check the Competition Rules before entering https://wrekinartspc.com/competition-links-organisations-and-club-guides where you can also find a link to the online entry system. 

Don’t forget that you can only enter the competition if you’ve paid your membership fee. £30 for single person and £45 for a couple. OAP Fees are £25 single and £40 couple.

Then on Friday 6 October, Bob Goode will judge the 1st Merit PDI competition 

Steve has offered to arrange a visit to a local dairy farm near to his house. Milking times are 5am to 8am and 2.30pm to 5pm. He says there will be a chance to take sunrise photos if you choose the early session! If you’re interested please let Steve know familyrex@btinternet.com with preferred day and time.

Finally, Calvin encourages members to go to The Shrewsbury Club to photograph the biggest indoor event in women’s tennis in the UK https://wrekinartspc.com/specific-news-items/2023/9/16/want-to-photograph-top-class-tennis- Last year Maketa Vondrusova won both the singles and doubles cup before going on to win The Ladies Singles at Wimbledon! Sounds like the tournament to attend.
