It’s the opening night of the new club season on Friday 20 September when we will have an exhibition of member’s prints. Cllr Reg Snell, Deputy Mayor of Wellington Town Council, will perform the opening ceremony and present trophies to last season’s competition winners. Please bring your prints to the club room on Friday night and let Norman know by 13 September if you’re coming to the opening night. Partners are welcome.
There will be refreshments and club members are asked to bring some nibbles. Jayne has suggested: mini sausage rolls, mini pork pies, meat or vegetarian quiche, meat or vegetarian pizza slices, crisps/snacks, biscuits, cakes, dips.
Membership fees are now due. The new fees are: Single Membership £40; Joint Membership £60; OAP £35; Joint OAP £55. Please pay by Bank Transfer from 1 August. Please put your name as the reference. The weekly fee will be £4 or £5 for a non member but this will include a hot drink.
It was agreed at the AGM that the door fee can be paid quarterly in advance. The first one is for 12 weeks from 27 September to 13 December costing £48. There’s no charge for the opening night. Fees will be carried over if you don’t attend a meeting.
Finally there will be a Bring and Buy night on 27 September when you can bring used photographic kit for possible purchase by another member.
Friday 27 September is also the hand in night for the first Merit PDI competition where you can enter up to 3 images. Club rules and a link to the online entry system can be found in the “Links and Guides” tab on the club’s website. Entries need to be in by midnight on 20/9. This is normal but important on this occasion as there is scheduled maintenance to the system on the 23rd.
