2 dates for upcoming club competitions. Firstly, the 3rd Merit PDI is on 22 April so the hand in date is 15 April. The date for the Natural History competition is 27 May so the hand in day will be Friday 20 May. Don’t forget that all work for the Natural History competition must be new and not entered into a previous competition. Tony is looking for work to be displayed at two events in Wellington that the club is involved in. As part of Wellington Festival 2022 https://www.wellington-shropshire.gov.uk/events/category/festival/page/2/ there will be an open afternoon at The Belfrey on Sunday 8 May between 12 noon and 4pm where, amongst other things, the club will host a Photographic Exhibition. Then on 4 June the club will appear at Wellington Midsummer Fayre and Queen’s Jubilee Celebration https://www.wellington-shropshire.gov.uk/event/wellington-midsummer-fair-queens-jubilee-celebration/ in Wellington Parish Church Grounds between 10am and 4pm. Both events will help to raise the club profile so if you can help erecting the marquee and providing help during the day please contact Tony.
Entries are now open for this year’s Landscape Photographer of the Year https://www.lpoty.co.uk You can enter any image taken within the last 5 years and the closing date is 5 May 2022. There are over £20,000 worth of prizes with £10,000 awarded to the overall winner. This year the organisers are looking for images that capture The Spirit of Britain and celebrate the wonders of our landscape. Wales Comic Convention https://www.walescomiccon.com is at Telford international Centre this weekend 2 & 3 April. Not sure whether tickets are still available but no doubt there will be characters wondering about outside and they may even venture in to Southwater and Telford Town Centre. Keep your eyes pealed!
