This Friday we welcome Paula (FRPS, EFIAP/s) & Guy (EFIAP, EPSA) Davies from Stokesley Photographic Society https://stokesleyps.org.uk in North Yorkshire with their online talk “Double Exposure 2” to see a selection of their favourite images. On Friday 9 July Simon Van-Orden https://www.wildearthpictures.co.uk from Epsom Camera Club https://www.epsomcc.org.uk will present “Chasing the Lights” - a presentation on the Northern Lights. Simon says” Capturing the breathtaking phenomenon of the northern Lights has become a particular passion of mine.” I’m sure we will be treated to an evening of exciting photography.

Looking a little further ahead, the Finals Night competition will be held on 30 July. Further details including the judge and the number of entries allowed will be in the next Newsletter but you must have entered at least 2 Merit PDI competitions to be eligible. Entries may be work already entered in the current year’s competitions and can include winning submissions. Alternatively members may wish to produce new work for the Finals Night competition.

Severn Valley Railway are running their 1940’s weekend https://www.svr.co.uk/SEItem.aspx?a=179 on 3 & 4 July. You will need to prebook tickets for this event. There’s also a separate 1940’s evening show https://www.svr.co.uk/SEItem.aspx?a=120 when there will be live music at Kidderminster station.

Steampunk returns to Blists Hill https://www.ironbridge.org.uk/events/family-events/steampunk-festival/ on the weekend of 17 & 18 July. This is an all ticketed event and you will find information on the link to book a timed entry if you already have an annual pass.
