This Friday, Peter Jones ARPS, DPAGB, BPE3* will judge the Natural History Competition. Calvin has sent Club members a Zoom link for this event.

On Friday 14 May, Dave Mason from Canterbury https://www.davemasonimages.com/index.html presents his online talk “I Shoot People.” Dave says” the talk is based upon my own personal approach to street photography.” Visitors are welcome to join this talk for £3.50 through Eventbrite. Roger continues his success in external competitions with 2 images shortlisted in Gymnastics Section of the World Sports Photography Awards 2021 https://www.worldsportsphotographyawards.com/2021-shortlist Roger is particularly pleased as he is up against the big Agency photographers like Marc Aspland and Mark Pain. Keep an eye on the website and check when the winners are announced.

In an earlier Newsletter I mentioned that Roger is currently 4th in the “Amateur Photographer of the Year” competition placing Wrekin Arts 2nd in the Club results. The next phase of this competition is for Landscapes https://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk/apoy2021/apoy-round-4-is-open-landscapes-148020 if anyone fancies their chances.

There’s a couple of photo competitions with a difference that you might like to enter - The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards https://www.comedywildlifephoto.com with a first prize of a 7 day safari in Kenya closing date 30 June and the Comedy Pet Photography Awards https://www.comedypetphoto.com with a first prize of £2,000 closing date 15 August.
