Wrekin Arts Photographic Club Newsletter 2 2020/21 1 October 2020

Following last weeks’ successful Zoom presentation by Calvin, Tony has put together a programme to take us through until December.

The presentations will be every 2 weeks starting on 9 October at 8pm with Roger Hance FRPS, AFIAP, BPE5* from Colchester with the intriguing title “Why I switched.”

On 23 October Russell and Audrey will show us images from their recent visit to The Falklands

On 6 November we have our first overseas speaker - the advantages of Zoom! - when Paul Stanley FIPF, EFIAP/p from Dublin will present “My Photography” Paul will show us his favourite images in the genres of Travel, Landscape, Long Exposure and Architecture and will give some background on his approach to photography, his workflow and the backstories to some images.

Erica Oram CPAGB, AFIAP, BPE3* from Sheffield will be the last speaker for 2020 on 20 November with “The view from Here.”

There will be a PDI competition on 11 December. The competition will run using Landscape and Natural History rules, so the judge will see the your images for the first time live on Zoom. Finally, The Shropshire Star is running a “Pet Portrait” competition www.shropshirestar.com/pawtraitpets with a first prize of £500, runner up £250 and third prize £100. Deadline is 5pm Sunday 4 October 2020.
