This Friday David Gibbins ARPS, EFIAP/b, BPE5* will judge the finals night PDI competition.

There won’t be a Learner Hour session this week.

On Friday 14 June we welcome Anne Sutcliffe FRPS, EFIAP, PPSA (supported by Fotospeed) for a return visit to see some wonderful pictures of her travels in a lecture titled “Travelling Light”

Friday 14 June is also the hand in night for the finals print competition. Please submit digital copies of the prints via our online entry system http://www.photocompentries.net/?org=WrekinClub 

The MCPF Photofolio Exhibition will open at Smethwick Photographic Society from at 7.30pm on Wednesday 5 June until 10 June. https://www.mcpf.co.uk/photofolio/ There will be nearly 300 prints on display plus a projected image audio visual presentation.

The club will have a stall at Wellington Midsummer Fayre http://www.wellington-shropshire.gov.uk/event/midsummer-fayre-2/  on Saturday 8 June. This is an annual event for the club where we put on a print exhibition in Wellington Churchyard. Tony is looking for helpers to erect the gazebo and set up the exhibition. If you’re able to help then please meet in the churchyard from 8.30am onwards. if you want to display prints then bring them to the club on Friday night. If you want to sell any print please put a price on it. The club will retain 20% of the selling price as commission.

The PAGB Inter-Federation Competition http://www.thepagb.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/interfed_poster.pdf will be hosted this year by MCPF on Saturday 15 June at 10am. The venue is The Priory Centre, Church Road, Stretton, Burton-on-Trent, DE13 0HE and tickets are £7.50 each http://www.thepagb.org.uk 

The final competition announced today is the PAGB Inter Club PDI competition at Warwick University Arts Centre https://www.warwickartscentre.co.uk/visit/ on Saturday 13 July. Tickets are £11 from https://pagbhost.co.uk/main/main.php  and the event starts at 10am. There’s usually a very good raffle at this venue. Last year Calvin won an A3 printer, this year he’s hoping to win a DLSR camera! Well worth attending.

The Steampunk Festival returns to Blists Hill Museum https://www.ironbridge.org.uk/events/family-events/the-town-that-never-was-steampunk-festival/ on the weekend of 22 and 23 June. You can use the passport ticket during the day but separate tickets are required for the evening event. Then on 29 June there’s a cyclocross event https://www.ironbridge.org.uk/events/family-events/the-ludgate-finance-queen-victoria-cyclocross/ starting at 5.15pm. Tickets are £4 each.

Finally, the club event of the year, the annual awards dinner, will be at The Ramada Hotel, Telford, TF3 4NA on Saturday 6 July at 7pm for 7.30pm. Tickets are £26 each and the menus will be sent out later. The dinner is for all club members and their partners, and the committee look forward to seeing you there.
