Wrekin Arts Photographic Club Newsletter 22 2017/18 12 June

This Friday Peter Siveter DPAGB, EFIAP will judge the PDI Finals competition.

On Friday 22 June Mark Sisson https://www.marksissonphoto.co.uk makes a return visit with his lecture “From Alaska to Argentina.” Mark is a professional wildlife photographer and he will show more of his wonderful images tonight.

Our club is representing the Midlands Federation along with Smethwick, Arden and Cannock in the National PDI championships at Warwick University Arts Centre on Saturday 15 July. There are 38 clubs competing from the 15 Federations across the country so Wrekin Arts will be up against stiff competition We need your support on the day. Tickets are £10 each. Please contact Tony on 01952 617170 before Friday if you’re interested in attending, The theatre at the Arts Centre is outstanding and there are bar and catering facilities along with free car parking at the venue.

The London Salon of Photography Print Exhibition 2018 http://www.londonsalon.org will be at Smethwick Photographic Society club room on Saturday 16 June from 2pm. Then on 10 July, the Club will show the PAGB Masters of Print exhibition http://www.thepagb.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/mastersofprint_2017.pdf 

At the recent Inter Federation Print and PDI Championships the Midlands Federation won 3 of the 4 categories and came 2nd in the colour print section.  http://www.thepagb.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/interfed_2018.pdf Individual awards went to Roger Evans who was the overall Gold Medal winner in the Mono Print section with “The Lifter.” Roger also won a PAGB Ribbon in the Open PDI section with “Kelly Sibley Forehand” whilst Jon Baker won a PAGB Ribbon in the Colour Print section with “Twin Peaks.” Well done to both club members. Finally,  the Club’s Annual Awards Presentation Evening will be held at the Ramada Hotel, Telford http://www.ramadatelford.co.uk/contact-us/getting-here/ on Saturday 28 July. Tickets are £25 each.  The dinner is open to members and their partners and gives everyone a chance to socialise outside the club room.
