This Friday, we have “An Evening with Libby Smith EFIAP, MPAGB, APAGB” (sponsored by Permajet) from Carluke Camera Club http://www.carluke-cc.org.uk in Scotland. Libby returns to the club on Sunday 13 March to run a workshop from 1030am until 4pm.The workshop will include methods to soft proof and prepare images for printing including methods to reduce ink consumption and save money! There will also be suggestions on how to get the most out of your pictures. Tickets are £25 for the full day workshop and booking is essential. Friday 11 March is also the hand in night for the Challenge Cup Competition. This competition is for a panel of related prints, consisting of 3, 4 or 5 prints which can be displayed on one or more mounts. Whilst prints can be any size the maximum mount size is 20”x 16”. Members can enter up to 3 panels and each panel must have a title and display plan and each print should be numbered and include the author’s name. Work must not have been entered in previous Challenge Cup competitions and, as in all club competitions, original images must have been taken using the photographic process and members must own the copyright of all the constituent parts of the image. For this competition only, you will not be able to register the prints online.
On Friday 18 March John Hartshorne LRPS, DPAGB, BPE3* will judge the Challenge Cup Competition. The Learner’s Hour is back at the club room this week and starts at 6.45pm when members will be discussing and presenting images taken in Wellington last week.
MidPhot Exhibition 2016 opens at Smethwick (The Old Schoolhouse, Churchbridge, Oldbury, B69 2AS) at 7.30pm on Wednesday 16 March with the presentation of awards followed by a showing of the accepted PDIs.
