Wrekin Arts Photographic Club Newsletter 15 2017/18 7 March 2018

There’s an extra meeting next week. The 3rd Merit PDI competition postponed from 2 March because of snow will be held on Monday 12 March at 8pm and judged by Warren Alani ARPS, DPAGB, AFIAP as before. The judge is travelling from Sutton Coldfield so please make every effort to attend.

This week, Bob Dennis CPAGB, APAGB, AFIAP, BPE4* will present images from the Bebington Salon of Photography 2018. The Salon is a member of the British Photographic Exhibitions circuit (BPE) http://www.britishphotographicexhibitions.org.uk and accepted entries count towards points for their star rating system.

As mentioned in the last Newsletter, their will be no more Leaner Hour sessions until further notice.

Friday is also the hand in night for the Challenge Cup competition where you can enter a panel of 3, 4 or 5 related prints as a single entry. You can submit up to 3 panels but please number your panels 1 to 3 with 1 being your favourite panel and also include a display plan. On Friday 16 March John Hartshorne LRPS, DPAGB, BPE3* will judge the panel competition.

Looking a little further ahead The Landscape competition hand in night is on 23 March. This is a competition for both prints and PDIs with the proviso that any entry must not have been submitted to any previous club competition.

There’s a couple of events at Telford international Centre that may be of interest. This Saturday, 9 March “Ultimate Dubs UK 2018” https://www.ultimate-dubs.co.uk/tickets featuring vehicles from the Volkswagen/Audi Group. Then on 24 and 25 March the British Alpaca Society National Show is on http://basnationalshow.co.uk 

Finally, The Photography Show https://www.photographyshow.com is at the NEC, Birmingham form 17 to 20 March.
