Wrekin Arts Photographic Club Newsletter 15 2015/16 22 March 2016

This Friday is Good Friday and there won’t be a formal meeting at the club, however the room will still be open for members to come along and chat about any subject. If you’ve got prints and PDIs for the MCPF Inter-Club print and projected image competition http://www.mcpf.co.uk/printpdichampionships.html  at The Civic Centre, Braunstone, Leicester LE3 2PP on Saturday 16 April then this Friday is the last date to give them to Tony. You can also order tickets for the event from Tony at £6 each.

On 1 April, our own club member, Geoff Owen EFIAP, talks about his journey to reach the EFIAP award. The beginners group, starting at 6.45pm, will have tips on composition from Tony. 1 April is also the hand in night for the 3rd Merit Print Competition. Please also submit an online image http://www.photocompentries.net/?org=WrekinClub. Help in preparing the image can be found in the links and guides section of the website.

The club now has a Facebook page. You can access the page at https://www.facebook.com/WrekinArtsPC/ or by clicking on the Facebook logo (“F” in a black circle) at the foot of each page on the website. The aim is to spread information about the club and its’ activities. We can also display the award winning images (similar to the website) in a single Facebook Gallery at a maximum size of 800px with an embedded watermark. If anyone doesn’t want their images loaded onto Facebook then please let Calvin know.

Have a look at the Facebook page and “Like” it (Facebook speak). Please share it with all your contacts/friends and ask them to “Like” it too. The more “Likes” we get the greater visibility the page gets on Facebook. It also helps the way that search engines display our website.

Beacon Camera Club, Malvern will be hosting “ An evening with Simon Butterworth” at The Swan Theatre, Worcester http://www.worcesterlive.co.uk/events_review.asp?eid=453059555 on the evening of Friday 17th June. Tickets are available from The Swan Theatre Box Office ( 01905 611714 ) for £15.00
