Wrekin Arts Photographic Club Newsletter 1 2026/27

After last Friday’s Opening night and Member’s Exhibition when Cllr Reg Snell, Mayor of Wellington, presented trophies to last year’s winners https://wrekinartspc.com/202526-league-standings-copy and https://wrekinartspc.com/202526-other-club-contest-results the programme continues on Friday 9 October with a members night. The theme is “My Favourite Photos.” A night when everyone can bring up to 10 photos that they particularly like. These can be a mixture of their own, another member’s or another author’s. It’s totally open. You can then explain why it appeals to you and people can discuss.

Friday 16 October is the hand in night for the 1st Merit PDI competition where you can enter up to 3 images in jpeg format up to 1400 x 1050 pixels in size. Please add a keystroke to the image. Rules for the competition, a guide and link to the online entry system together with a useful video on adding a Keystroke can be found at https://wrekinartspc.com/competition-links-organisations-and-club-guides

Looking a little further ahead Friday 13 November is the hand in night for the 1st Merit Print Competition.

Last year’s club panel competition created a lot of interest amongst members. You can see some great entries at this year’s Midphot Panel Exhibition on Saturday 17 October from 12 Noon until 4pm at Smethwick PS room in Churchbridge B69 2AS. Full details on the link https://mcpf.co.uk/2026-midphot-panel-exhibition

The PAGB Inter-Club Print Championship will be at The Weston Building, Harper Adams University, Newport TF10 8NB on Saturday 24 October from 9am to 5pm. Tickets are £15 each. The club will not be entering this year but it’s worth going to see the best images in club photography on your doorstep. A number of commercial organisations will be present and they normally offer a discount on list prices. In addition there’s an excellent raffle. Calvin won an A3 printer a few years ago!

Finally, if you have any News you would like to share then forward to me and I’ll include it in the next Newsletter.
