Wrekin Arts Photographic Club Newsletter 3 2025/26 1 October 2025

This Friday Matthew Bourne will present his Zoom talk at the club “The Art of Award Winning Photography.” Matthew says, “Whether you want to improve your chances of success at at Club level or are thinking of Photography Awards, this talk will help you take some steps towards your goal.”

The talk covers the following topics: practical guidance on finding the right images to enter; understanding judges; how to find the best shooting locations; storytelling in photography; post-processing; case studies of past successes as well as past failures. should be an interesting evening.

Looking a little further ahead, Friday 17 October is the hand in night for the 1st Merit Print competition where you can enter up to 3 images each in colour and mono in your particular class. Then on Saturday 18 October the club is entering the PAGB Inter-Club Championship https://thepagb.org.uk/events/inter-club-print/ at The Croston Theatre Blackburn BB2 6QU. Some of the award winning images and the results for 2024 can be seen on the link. Wrekin Arts won the plate competition last year and is hoping to do well again this year.
