Wrekin Arts Photographic Club Newsletter 3 2022/23 4 October 2022

This Friday marks the first of our Critique Evenings. Members are encouraged to submit up to 3 images online or to bring prints to the club on Friday night. You can put your name to the image or choose to be anonymous. Everyone will have the chance to comment on images and the idea is to help you to improve and maybe think about the image in a different way.

Information on sizing images and submitting them to the club’s online entry system can be found at https://wrekinartspc.com/competition-links-organisations-and-club-guides If you have problems submitting online then email your image to Calvin calvin.downes@btinternet.com Please submit online images by 11.59pm on Thursday 6 October. Alternatively, bring the images on a memory stick on friday night

Next Friday, 14 October, Peter Gennard MFIAP, EFIAP/D2 from Smethwick Photographic Society https://smethwickps.co.uk/member-galleries/member-galleries-by-subject/monochrome/peter-gennard/ presents his print lecture “More PG Tips.” Peter is an accomplished portrait photographer. He is an entertaining speaker and has some interesting anecdotes. A night not to be missed!

Congratulations to Steve Rex. Steve entered the Royal Meteorological Society “Weather Photographer of the Year 2022” https://www.rmets.org/wpotyvote Unfortunately he didn’t make it to the last 12 but his image will feature in the Society’s November Journal in an article on Cloud Classification.

If any club member has news or events they would like to share then please let me know.

If you “Want to Get Back to Printing” then MCPF are running a seminar of the same name https://www.mcpf.co.uk/seminars/ on 20 November at Smethwick Photographic Society's club room. Tickets are £15 and will be on sale soon. There’s a link on the web page to reserve your ticket now.

Finally, Jon & Sue Baker have just released another video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qohAeKFLXw4 in their "Four Feet from Telford” series.
