Friday 2 April is also the hand in date for the Landscape competition. You can enter up to 4 images for this competition which must be new work not previously entered into any Wrekin Arts competition https://wrekinartspc.com/competition-links-organisations-and-club-guides The hand in date is 1 week earlier than shown in the programme and has been altered because Calvin will be unavailable. On Friday 9 April we will be treated to “Wildlife Photography” with Tracey Lund FBIPP, FMPA, ARPS, ASINWP, ANPS, CPAGB https://traceylundphotography.co.uk from Hull. Tracey is an award winning International Wildlife Photographer and her talk covers Alaska, Canada, Yellowstone, India, Zimanga reserve in South Africa and UK hides. We will see a selection of images from the areas mentioned as well as some stories/experiences she has encountered.

Looking a bit further ahead the hand in date for the Natural History competition is 30 April. You can enter up to 4 images for this competition and the same rule applies about new work as in the Landscape competition.
Entries are now open for the SINWP Bird Photographer of the Year 2021 in aid of RSPB https://sinwp.com/bird/ A minimum donation of £1 per image is requested and all donations will go to RSPB https://www.rspb.org.uk The competition closes on 30 September 2021.
The PhotoSpace in Ludlow https://tpsc.online/# reopens on Saturday 17 April with an exhibition by Kate Maxwell - “The Wounded Hill” about Clee Hill in South Shropshire https://www.shropshirehillsaonb.co.uk/our-work/management-plan/clee-hills For the last few years The PhotoSpace has run a competition “Ludlow Seven” to give photographers an opportunity to exhibit their work in a gallery. Ed won this competition and exhibited last year. This year’s theme is “Release” to be presented as a photo essay of up to 5 images. The photography must be done from now and before 31 October. There will be further guidance issued later.
Finally Wellington Town Council is promoting a Virtual Art Gallery http://www.wellington-shropshire.gov.uk/wellingtons-25th-anniversary-festival/virtual-art-gallery/ to celebrate 25 years of Wellington Arts Festival. Although there won’t be any monetary prizes, winners images will be exhibited at a venue in Wellington. The club has worked closely with Wellington Town Council over a number of years and we were preparing an exhibit for The Square before Covid put paid to our exhibition.
