This Friday, Barbara Lawton FRPS, DPAGB from Smethwick Photographic Society makes a welcome return to judge the Natural History Competition. Calvin will be looking at “Photoshop Selections” and back button focussing in the Learner’s Hour starting at 6.45pm so don’t forget to bring your cameras.
Next Friday, 13 May we have a presentation of images from the 2015 London Salon of Photography http://www.londonsalon.org with a commentary by Leigh Preston FRPS http://www.leighpreston.co.uk/index.htm. Leigh provided the commentary on last year’s Salon showing and members really enjoyed his thoughtful comments. Membership of the London Salon is by invitation only and there are currently 47 members. Our own Irene Froy http://irenefroy.com is in this exclusive group.

Looking a little further ahead, the MCPF Photofolio Exhibition 2016 will be shown at Smethwick Photographic Society from 8 to 11 June. The Midland Salon of International Photography 2016 http://www.midland-salon.com is open for entries until 27 June. The timetable, entry fees, sections to enter and a link to the on-line entry site can all be found on the Midland Salon link above.
Finally, Mark Sisson, local wildlife photographer who has lectured at the club in the past http://www.marksissonphoto.co.uk has an exhibition of wildlife photography at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms http://www.shropshirehillsdiscoverycentre.co.uk/page/24/gallery.htm until 30 May. He is joined by Lindsey Bucknor http://www.lindseybimages.com/about-me.html who has his first solo photography exhibition “Living Landscapes.” Both exhibitions are free and are open 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm.
