This Friday, Dave Lowe ARPS, DPAGB http://www.davidlowepics.com from Smethwick Photographic Society will judge the third merit print competition. Calvin will run a Critique Session in the Learners Hour this week. Please bring along your PDIs and prints for comment.
On 15 April Chris Palmer FRPS, EFIAP, DPAGB, APAGB (sponsored by Fotospeed) from Amersham Photographic Society makes a welcome return to the club with his lecture “ A Personal Response” Chris says “ In this lecture I discuss the creative processes that I use, both when out shooting, and subsequently when producing my prints. The lecture features many of my latest prints, and culminates in the work that I produced to earn my RPS Fellowship.” I’m sure that we’re going to see some excellent work.
On Saturday 16 April starting at 10am, the MCPF Print and PDI Championships http://www.mcpf.co.uk/mcpfevents.html take place at Braunstone Civic Centre, Leicester, LE3 2PP when clubs in the Midland Region battle it out to see which 2 clubs will represent the Midlands at the PAGB Inter-Club championships held later in the year at Warwick University (PDI) and Ormskirk High School for the print competition. This is a golden opportunity to see a wide range of images from other clubs across the region and compare their standards. If you’re interested in coming along then order your ticket (£7) from Tony by Friday 8 April at the latest.
Looking a little further ahead there’s a change to the published programme on Friday 22 April. Unfortunately Ron Tear will be unable to visit the club and he will be replaced by Tony Dudley (sponsored by Fotospeed) who will be giving his latest lecture -“The Creative Side of Dudley"
