Hi
Almost there now!
The club reopens for the 2015/16 season this Friday when we have our opening night social event and members exhibition. I hope that you will all be able to attend. Tony would like to thank members who have submitted work for the exhibition. Unfortunately, it is now too late to accept any additional images. Printed programmes will be available on Friday night but if you want a sneak preview of all the lectures and internal competitions then have a look on our website http://wrekinartspc.com/main-programme/
This season we are putting on an additional Learners Programme http://wrekinartspc.com/learner-programme-2015-2016/ starting at 6.45pm on Friday 25 September. It will be held in the studio next to the club room and will run until 7.45pm. This event was requested by a lot of members. Please support it.
On Friday 11 September the first lecture – The Doug Lewis Memorial Lecture – will be given by our treasurer and programme secretary Tony Thomas, EFIAP (supported by Paper Spectrum) when Tony will show us a selection of his latest prints.
We hope that all our members will enter the Wrekin Salon this year. If you haven’t entered before then you might want some help in deciding on suitable images to submit.. On 2 October there will be a Wrekin Salon Critique evening as part of the learners programme to provide this help.
And finally, the club will have a stall at this year’s Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Festival http://www.ironbridge.org.uk/plan-your-visit/events-and-exhibitions-calendar/world-heritage-festival/ on Saturday 19 September. Members are able to sell their prints and the club will keep 20% of the price as commission. Please bring any images you want to sell to the club on Friday 11 September. If you’re able to help erect and run the stand on the day then please let Tony know. If you’re unable to help please come down and look at the stand and see what else is in Ironbridge that day. Roads in Ironbridge will be closed so use the Park and Ride service from the top of Jiggers Bank (Sat Nav TF4 3QE) into Ironbridge.
